Why we continue to invest in Landbase: Building the Last Mover in GTM

Daniel, Emily and the Landbase team are rebuilding B2B GTM software as an E2E & AI-native System of Action

Over the past decade, software has entrenched itself in every aspect of B2B go-to-market. Sales engagement platforms such as Salesloft and Gong have transformed outbound execution. Buyer intent & intelligence tools such as 6sense or ZoomInfo have added signal to targeting. And more recently, platforms such as Clay have made lead enrichment and data orchestration more accessible to growth teams.

While software became a strong enabler for B2B GTM, the proliferation of tools has far from solved every pain point and also created a few new ones. Tech-forward companies are juggling sprawling stacks of 10-15+ different disconnected tools. For traditional firms, this complexity becomes entirely paralyzing: lacking the expertise to navigate such complex software stacks, many of them default to outsourcing and partnering with the thousands of B2B sales agencies in the US. Across internal and outsourced GTM teams, businesses still rely on manual labor to navigate missing connective tissue between GTM tools, personalize outreach, or manage follow-ups.

Why is GTM SW — so ripe for disruption through unification and automation — still fragmented and painful to implement and operate? On the one hand, it is simply very hard to build an integrated GTM platform that unifies disjointed data into a single platform and encompasses a ‘System of Action’ that performs on par or even better than humans. On the other hand, it also represents a very unique opportunity to build a massive AI company by tapping into real software or outsourcing budgets with a quick path to ROI through measurable outcomes.

That’s why Landbase co-founders Daniel and Emily committed themselves to seizing that opportunity and are on a mission to rebuild B2B GTM. Their AI-native GTM engine helps businesses find their next customer with a single prompt, create tailored messages optimized to close leads and launch campaigns across channels. The platform is powered by a proprietary ‘GTM-1 Omni’ AI model that is trained on 40M+ historical campaign interactions and 175M+ sales conversations as well as an extended team of agents that power, e.g., campaign design, content creation, domain management and deliverability. What used to take weeks of manual coordination, context-switching, and point tools, Landbase collapses into minutes.

We’ve partnered with Landbase since their Seed round in 2023, and can confidently say that they embody the best team we can imagine to build out this vision. Daniel, CEO, brings vast experience from scaling AppDirect, a global B2B commerce platform, for nearly 15 years and Emily, CPO, leverages deep product expertise from building category-defining platforms at Oyster, Carta and eBay. In addition, the broader C-level management team brings vast domain know-how from leading AI, R&D and engineering teams at ZoomInfo, Crunchbase, BigCommerce and Everstring.

Leveraging these insights and experiences paid off: since their public launch in late-2024, Landbase has grown to over 150 customers — mostly in traditional industries such as IT services, consulting, telecom or recruiting — and achieved 825% revenue growth since the beginning of the year. Usage data from customers points to a clear ROI: by streamlining targeting and messaging through reinforcement learning, GTM-1 Omni achieves a 4–7x conversion uplift compared to human-built campaigns.

We at Picus Capital are more than thrilled to co-lead Landbase’s 30M USD Series A alongside Ashton Kutcher’s Sound Ventures with continued participation from 8VC, Firstminute Capital as well as A*. We’re looking forward to supporting the team as they continue their growth journey and explore opportunities across outbound and inbound sales as well as customer success. We strongly believe this is a historic moment and an inevitable evolution for GTM in the age of AI and agentic automation. Landbase will be at the center of helping GTM specialists reclaim their day by moving from a world in which humans serve software into a new paradigm where software actually helps humans to bring back something we’ve lost along the road — deep human engagement.
